School
Founded in 1909, Saint Athanasius School has
consistently offered quality and formative instruction to
our students in grades preK – 8th grades.
Our primary goal is today, as it has been
throughout the years: The total education of each and every
child encompassing mind, body and spirit.
Building on the solid foundation provided by
the Benedictine sisters through most of its history, our
present lay faculty continues to provide our children the
necessary skills to become productive citizens of a future
generation. Our teachers accomplish all this in a totally
Catholic and nurturing environment.
The past school year Saint Athanasius School
again received full accreditation from the Middle States
Association of Colleges and Schools. The principal and
faculty submitted a required proposal titled SMART 2004. Spotlight
on Mathematics Application Reinforcement
and Teaching accreditation came as a just reward for
their intense efforts and exceptional creativity. Our total
program will come alive to you as you visit these pages.
Better yet, you are always welcome to visit in person. You
will find our school a happy place to learn.
Saint Athanasius School creates a Catholic
atmosphere that nurtures the holistic development of each
CHILD by stressing the academic and moral components of
education. Teachers guide and affirm the children in their
quest for knowledge as future leaders and citizens of a
complicated world community. The students, in turn, develop
skills to live in this world while acquiring sensitivity to
the needs of the sick, the lonely and the poor. Students
are taught to appreciate and respect all people.
